How often should I get my carpets cleaned?

On average, carpets should be cleaned every 12 to 18 months. You may need to clean your carpet more frequently if you have furry pets or small children in the house, perhaps as often as twice a year. It's a great idea to have your carpet cleaned once you've finished housebreaking a new pet, as a thorough cleaning will eliminate any lingering odors that could encourage your pet to soil the carpet again.

My carpet doesn't look dirty. Do I still need to clean it?

Yes. Carpet cleaning is regular maintenance that removes built up dust, dirt, and allergenic particles that you can't see from deep inside your carpet. Cleaning your carpet is not only better for your health, but your carpet will even last longer. Dirt is abrasive, and can wear away at your carpet over time, reducing its attractiveness and shortening its lifespan.

What carpet cleaning method do you use?

UCM Carpet Cleaning Framingham uses hot water extraction, also called steam cleaning. This is a highly effective cleaning method that uses pressurized hot water to loosen and remove dirt and other contaminants.

Do you move furniture?

Our technicians are happy to help out with moving light pieces of furniture, like side tables. Unfortunately, our insurance does not permit us to move heavy furniture. We are happy to clean the exposed carpeting in rooms containing heavy furniture.

How long will it take for my carpet to dry?

Carpet drying time depends on the humidity, the size of the area, and the amount of ventilation the area receives to aid the drying. If the day is humid, the carpet will take longer to dry, as will larger areas. Increasing ventilation to the room, with fans and air conditioning or a dehumidifier, will help the carpet dry faster. Most carpets will dry within 4 to 8 hours.
